Dense jungles and startling
volcanoes, rugged mountains and caribbean beaches, ancient civilisations and rich
culture: this adventurous trip combines them all. We roam the Guatemalan highlands,
home to the Quiche indians who are famed for their colourful clothing and handicrafts,
spend time beside the deep blue waters of Lake Atitlan and walk to remote
mountain villages.We also travel into the heart of the ancient Maya civilisation
to explore fascinating sites such as Copan, Quirigua and Tikal. Some of
the roads are rough and we will be travelling through remote areas, so this trip
will appeal to those with a sense of adventure, interested in discovering a deeply
traditional and scenically beautiful part of Central America.
